ISI mark<\/span> is a certification mark that is one of the most recognized sign of quality and safety in the Indian Subcontinent. The ISI mark is an indication of the fact that the product is in compliance with the related quality standard that is developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards which is the national standards body of the country. The ISI mark signifies that product is safe to use and has a good quality.y The ISI mark certification is granted to the companies and products by the BIS which is the standardization authority of India. The main objective of the institution is to ensure that the products that are delivered to the customers are safe for their use and are in attachment with all the quality and safety standards set by ISI. The ISI mark is granted to a product after it has been thoroughly tested by an approved laboratory of BIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Types of BIS Registration Schemes<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

The BIS Registration for the product is categorized under different types of schemes which is as follows-<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Normal Procedure for Domestic Manufacturer<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

The applicant needs to submit the BIS Registration or BIS Registration application along with certain documents and the requisite fees. After submitting the application an evaluation is carried out by a BIS officer where the samples are tested in the factory and drawn an independent testing report. \u00a0And, if all things go well BIS Registration is provided where the sampling procedure is acceptable. BIS Registration is granted within 4 months after the submission of the application.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Simplified Procedure for Domestic Manufacturers<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In the simplified procedure, the applicant along with the application for BIS Registration submits a test report of the sample from the approved lab to the BIS officer. If the test report is satisfactory then the BIS officer will verify the factory and grant certificate of registration within 30 days of submission of BIS Registration application with a required test report.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In this process applicant is required to submit the filled application form along with documents required and demanded fee to the\u00a0Branch Office under whose dominion<\/span>\u00a0the manufacturing unit is located. Thereafter an initial evaluation is carried out by BIS officer to verify the capability of the applicant, in accordance to process according to the relevant Indian Standard and to confirm the availability of technical workforce and testing facility. Samples are then tested in the factory as well as it goes through independent testing. Passing independent test is essential to get license. If Preliminary evaluation is satisfactory and the applicant agrees to operate the defined Scheme of Testing & Inspection and pay the prescribed marking fee then the license is expected to be granted within 4 months of recording of application by BIS and 6 months in case of all India first license for a product.<\/p>\n

SIMPLIFIED PROCEDURE<\/b>–<\/p>\n

In this procedure, the applicant is required to submit test reports from specified laboratories along with the application. Then there is verification visit by the staff members and if it is found to be satisfactory and the applicant agrees to implement the defined scheme of testing and inspection and pay the marked fee. Under this method license is expected to be granted within 30 days of submission of BIS Certification application with required document and test reports.<\/p>\n

Who Can Apply<\/span><\/p>\n

Any organization engaged in providing manufacture, assembly or service, having legal entity in India or abroad can apply with the documents authenticating name and address of the organization.<\/p>\n
