This makes the CE marking recognizable worldwide even to people who are not familiar with the European Economic Area. It is in that sense similar to the <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"FCC Declaration of Conformity\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/FCC_Declaration_of_Conformity\">FCC Declaration of Conformity<\/a> used on certain electronic devices sold in the <a title=\"United States\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States\">United States<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman, times, serif;\">The CE marking is the manufacturer&#8217;s declaration that the product meets the requirements of the applicable EC directives.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman, times, serif;\">The mark consists of the CE logo and, if applicable, the four digit identification number of the <a title=\"Notified Body\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Notified_Body\">Notified Body<\/a> involved in the conformity assessment
